- Type Front Brake Pads
- SKU FCP 4955W DS1.11
The DS1.11 is designed with a lower coefficient of friction than the DS3.12 across all temperatures, making it a moderate mu pad compared to other endurance racing compounds. It requires more pedal force than the DS3.12 and exhibits a slightly declining torque curve as temperatures increase. This characteristic can provide drivers with a preference for a progressive brake feel, especially as heat builds during aggressive driving maneuvers. Some drivers find the DS1.11 more manageable on street tires than the DS3.12, as it requires more effort to activate ABS.
In terms of durability, the DS1.11 offers a long lifespan compared to many other pad compounds on the market, though not quite as long as the DS3.12. It is gentle on discs at track temperatures, particularly when a proper pad transfer layer is maintained. While the DS1.11 boasts excellent maximum temperature handling and fade resistance, it falls slightly short of the DS3.12 in this regard. Nevertheless, reports of brake fade are rare, and most drivers distinguish between the DS1.11 and DS3.12 based on their distinct feel and performance characteristics.
